Flt Lt David Osbaldeston

I joined the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in 1985, initially serving at 2371 Squadron. During my time in the cadets I got involved in everything that the Air Cadets has to offer, ranging from flying, attending camps, shooting and fieldcraft (the later two which Iā€™m still actively involved in today). The best camp I was lucky enough to attend at RAF Brize Norton in the summer of 1986.

I then left 2371 Squadron as life took over, and am now married with two children. I then re-joined the Air Cadets in 2017 at 2030 Squadron, and shortly took the decision to return to uniform thereafter. Having attended the OASC course at RAF Cranwell, I took on the role of Adjutant at 2030 Squadron, before becoming the Officer Commanding (OC) of 492 Solihull Squadron in May 2023 which is where I serve today.
