I joined the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in 1985, initially serving at 2371 Squadron. During my time in the cadets I got involved in everything that the Air Cadets has to offer, ranging from flying, attending camps, shooting and fieldcraft (the later two which Iām still actively involved in today). The best camp I was lucky enough to attend at RAF Brize Norton in the summer of 1986.
I then left 2371 Squadron as life took over, and am now married with two children. I then re-joined the Air Cadets in 2017 at 2030 Squadron, and shortly took the decision to return to uniform thereafter. Having attended the OASC course at RAF Cranwell, I took on the role of Adjutant at 2030 Squadron, before becoming the Officer Commanding (OC) of 492 Solihull Squadron in May 2023 which is where I serve today.
