Promotion to the ranks of Corporal to Flight Sergeant are made when you have demonstrated the abilities of a SNCO to a high level and are thought capable of controlling your own flight of cadets, these promotions are based on merit and leadership potential. There are no exams to be taken as promotion to these ranks is determined by the Commanding Officer of the squadron.

CWO is the highest rank a cadet can achieve and this promotion is is decided by a panel at Wing level. For promotion you need to be be 18 years or over amd a Flight Sergeant (preferably holding the Staff Cadet classification).

NOTE: Do not get confused between the Cadet RANK and CLASSIFICATION (Training) structures. They are mostly independent from each other.
